Erik Söderblom is the artistic director of Espoo City Theatre, a pedagogue as well as an opera and theatre director. Before his career in Espoo, he worked as a conductor of the Chamber Strings of Helsinki-ensemble, professor of Acting at Helsinki Theatre Academy, the Director at the Turku City Theatre, Chairman of Q-teatteri, artistic director of the Baltic Circle festival, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of the Helsinki Festival, and as a member of the Artistic Committee at Tampere Theatre Festival.

Söderblom has directed theatre both in Finland and abroad. He has directed many musical works, such as opera and stage versions of choir works.

Söderblom on ohjannut teatteria eri puolilla Suomea ja ulkomailla. Hän on viime vuosina tehnyt runsaasti musiikkiteatteria, kuten oopperateoksia ja kuoroteosten näyttämöversioita.
