Armando Perla

Armando Perla is a Canadian non-binary queer mestizo curator born and raised in El Salvador. Perla is Artistic Director and Chief Curator at the Textile Museum of Canada, where they are currently on leave to complete a PhD in Art History and Museology at the University of Montreal. Previously, Perla was Chief Curator for the City of Toronto and Vice-President of the Canadian Museums Association. They also worked as Assistant Professor on Decolonization and Race in Museums and Heritage in the Master of Museum Studies at University of Toronto and served as International Advisor on Museums for the City of Medellin, Colombia. They were part of the founding team of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Project Leader at the Swedish Museum of Migration and Democracy.
