MIA WENNERSTRAND

I am a Helsinki-based artist. Typically, my work takes the shape of a performance, but I have also contributed to exhibitions with text and video works. For the past years, I have focused on the histories of EU and NATO, and their global impacts. I was granted the state art prize in 2021. I have also worked as a curator. I have a MA in theater.

I have participated in different projects with, among others, Babycastles (New York), Sala Alcalá 31 (Madrid), FACT (Liverpool), Rhizome (New York), NTS Radio (London), Bitrates exhibition (Shiraz), Assembly Point (London).

Olen Helsingissä asuva taiteilija. Teokseni ovat tyypillisesti ottaneet esityksen muodon, mutta osallistun myös näyttelyihin teksti- tai videoteoksilla. Olen viime vuosina keskittynyt EU:n ja Naton historioihin ja näiden globaaliin vaikutukseen. Minulle myönnettiin taiteen valtionpalkinto 2021. Aiemmin toimin myös kuraattorina. Olen koulutukseltani teatteritaiteen maisteri.

Olen osallistunut projekteihin mm. seuraavien tahojen kanssa: Babycastles, New York, Sala Alcalá 31, Madrid, FACT, Liverpool, Rhizome, New York, NTS Radio, Lontoo, Bitrates-näyttely, Shiraz, Assembly Point, Lontoo sekä useat suomalaiset taideinstituutiot.
