Karishma Bhagani

Karishma Bhagani is a producer, dramaturg and theatre-maker from Mombasa, Kenya. Karishma is the program director of the Bridges Fellowship Program, a training program for African producers, supported by Producer Hub, The Georgetown Lab for Global Performance and Politics and the Mellon Foundation. Karishma has served as a Strategic Consultant for the LAM Sisterhood in Kenya, and the Associate Artistic Director for the Tebere Arts Foundation in Uganda, as well as the Associate Producing Director of the Nairobi Musical Theatre Initiative. She was also a fellow at the Georgetown Lab for Global Performance and Politics (2019-2022). She served as a consultant for the Leeds 2023 Year of Culture Festival. Select production credits: Shakespeare in the Park: Twelfth Night (NYC), Goddess: The Musical (Berkeley Rep and The Public Theater), produced The Manic Monologues: Africa Edition as well as Theatre for One: Nairobi Edition in conjunction with the Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi and Octopus Theatricals in New York. She is a PhD candidate in Theater and Performance Studies at Stanford University, a Knight Hennessy Scholar and a RAISE fellow. She graduated from New York University (NYU) with a B.F.A in Theatre and a B.A. in History.
